Save girl child

"The world from the eyes of a girl child, bright but unprivileged, twinkle in the eye, but remorse in the spirit; the Indian girl child, a picture of dismay"

Female Infanticide - killing of the Girl child before birth

Isn't it weird even after  seven  long decades of India's independence and after achieving new heights in advancement in science and technology  we can still not accept the fact that the girl and boy should be given  equal opportunity  .Isn't it  shocking that the female foeticide   is still prevalent in the "modern" Indian society, that is  practice going on  for hundreds of years .
Indians are still trapped in age-old traditional beliefs. The age old belief implying that the boy is better than a girl is still prevalent till now .This implies the failure of the "liberal " society to transform the other orthodox India . Their obsession with the male child has no end to it .

The gloomy and sad picture of our country with the horrific gender discrimination ,losing our precious girl child lives , their sad dismay from the womb to grave without seeing the lights of the world is disturbing to the core .

The murdering of  their unborn daughters for the fear of giving huge amounts of dowry at the time of her marriage  tells us about the narrow minded thinking of orthodox India .

   Girl child protection

There is a constant struggle in the life of a girl ,even before she is born! and after birth she faces oppression and discrimination even from her own parents .She is not given proper nutrition ,her education is not given much importance because according to their mindset a girl can't do anything that's why she don't need any of this .The parents want their daughter to be at home and do all the chores and household work .so that's the life of a girl in her own family now after marriage when she goes to  the another family  she continues to face oppression and even violence at her marital home .

Female foeticide is so prominent that there is major difference in the male and female gender ratio in some states of India .The declining child sex ratio is concerning .
Women should be given an equal priority like men . Government have taken measures and launch campaigns for safeguarding the women existence in our country ,like the "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" Campaign .

But  changing the mindset of our society is necessary for changing the condition of girls in our society  .We should ponder on the fact that a girl also deserve to live and laugh like any other individual ,having a girl child is not a curse !

Girls and women have proved their worth time and time again with hard work and dedication .we know about our brave women like Rani lakshmibai and Kalpana Chawla who have taught us that women is no less than a man .

As Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India has said, “I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved” .A
lso nation progress only when there is equality . So , we should celebrate the birth of a girl rather than calling it a curse and should give equal opportunities to them as these poor souls also deserve to live life
